This railroad history book is a collection of some of my experiences as a fireman on the Evansville, Indianapolis and Terre Haute railroad line of the New York Central Railroad. I started firing steam locomotives when I was 18 years old in 1953. It is also a compilation of writings and history of the Evansville, Terre Haute and Indianapolis Railroad. The history of this railroad dates back to the Wabash Erie canel. There are maps, timetables, rosters, newspaper items and a lot of pictures. This railroad ran thru the towns of Terre Haute, Riley, Cory, Saline City, Clay City, Coal City, Worthington, Elliston, Newberry, Elnora, Plainville, Washington, Petersburg, Oakland City, Somerville, Mackey and Evansville. There are excerpts from a booklet titled Terre Haute Today dated 1915. The railroad is now the Indiana Southern, there are some pictures from that railroad also.
