COURSE DESCRIPTION

START: Bass River Resort  parking lot in front of the store. Leave parking lot and go under overhead sign to Bass River.  Make a left on asphalt and when it turns to gravel in short distance go another .8 mile to a Y in the road.  Go right on 2265 (you will start climbing a long climb).  Go 2.4 miles to OT trail on the right side of gravel road.  Ride the OT until it joins the Berryman trail.  You turn left on the Berryman and ride until Brazil creek. This will be a mandatory check point and aid station 1.   The distance from the start to check point 1 is 11.7 miles.

Leave Brazil creek heading south through parking lot .  When you get to the asphalt turn right and go about 100 yards across creek and turn left on the Berryman Trail.  You will ride the trail until you get to the Berryman Campground.  This is the second mandatory checkpoint and aid station 2.  It will also be aid station 3 and the drop bag site.  The distance to this point from Brazil Creek is 10 miles.

You will leave the Berryman Campground heading towards the Berryman trail as if you were riding the trail clockwise.   Take a left on jeep trail 1013 just before the Berryman Trail and go .25 miles.  Take a left onto the OT and go 1.35 miles to Hwy 8. Cross Hwy 8 onto the Ozark Trail and ride to Road 2540 just before Hazel Creek campground. Go left .5 mile to jeep road 2767.  Go left and ride on jeep trail to road 603.  This jeep road crosses the Ozark trail.  At Road  603 go left and  ride Road 603 back to Hwy 8.  Take a left and go .3 miles.  Turn right on Berryman road and go 1.2 miles to Berryman Campground, aid station 3 and mandatory check point 3.

From the campground you will proceed on the Berryman Trail in a clockwise position (you will never ride the same section of trail twice) .  Ride the Berryman Trail until Harmon Springs Trail Camp.   There is a T intersection and you will go left and ride 200 yards to a deserted parking lot.  If you go right at the T you will run into the Ozark trail and this will let you know you turned the wrong way. At the deserted parking lot follow jeep road 2901 .5 miles up to road 2265 and turn right.  Take road back to Bass River 6.4 miles.
