Poetry
2007 Poetry entries were written by students of Cherokee Middle School teacher Priscilla Arens. Mrs. Arens is a veteran English teacher who is in her 28th year of teaching. She says that she enjoys teaching because she wants to make a difference in the lives of her students. "Life is never boring with a group of seventh graders," Mrs. Arens says with a smile. If you are a teacher and would like to submit poems from your class to the Springfield Review, drop by Décor Gift & More on South Campbell and give us your name, school, and phone number. Parents are also welcome to come by and submit their children’s poems.
Featured Poem: Making a Difference By Julia G.
I can make a difference just by planting a tree.
I can make a difference by cleaning up the sea.
I can make a difference helping kids with needs.
I can make a difference even if it’s just me,
But someday I hope I can change all those I’s into we. More Poetry: The Haiku
